Spread Spencer’s Sparkle was founded in honor of Spencer Stephens, a vibrant and beloved young man whose life was tragically lost in an automobile accident in 2020 at the age of 18. Inspired by Spencer’s spirit and the kindness he brought to others, the organization began as a grassroots movement focused on encouraging acts of kindness and community connection in his memory.

In 2021, Spread Spencer’s Sparkle became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading kindness, acceptance, and inclusion throughout the Englewood, Florida community. Through local programs, scholarships, outreach initiatives, and community involvement, we strive to create meaningful connections and positive change for people of all backgrounds.

We are also proud to be the first nonprofit organization in Englewood connected to and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community, helping foster greater visibility, support, and acceptance within our area.

At the heart of everything we do is the belief that kindness matters, community matters, and together we are stronger.
About Spencer

Spencer Owen Stephens was an American Eagle influencer, fierce fashionista, talented performer, singer, and courageously brave person who lived authentically as an openly gay man. He was passionate about sharing the word of God, as he believed that God is bigger than any obstacle you will ever face. Spencer was an extraordinary young man who lived true to himself. He had an iconic strut, purple hair, diamond-studded shoes, and fur coats. He taught so many people about acceptance and how to love unconditionally. Spencer loved his family, friends, and his life as a whole. Thank you for visiting and getting to know Spencer.
